Vietnamese Phin Coffee – Brewing Slowly, Living Fully
In a fast-moving world, coffee is often rushed — brewed quickly, consumed quickly, and forgotten just as fast. But in Vietnam, coffee is different.
Using a traditional phin filter, brewing coffee becomes a slow and mindful ritual. And when paired with beans grown in Cau Dat, the experience becomes even more special.
What is Vietnamese Phin Coffee?
The phin is a small metal filter placed directly on top of your cup. Hot water is poured over ground coffee, and then — drop by drop — the coffee slowly brews.
There are no machines, no pressure, no rush.
Just time, patience, and anticipation.
Why Phin Brewing Brings Out the Best Flavor
At Cau Dat Bean, we recommend phin brewing because it highlights the natural qualities of our Arabica beans:
- A fuller body compared to pour-over methods
- A richer aroma as the coffee slowly extracts
- A balanced taste with depth and clarity
The slow drip allows every layer of flavor to develop naturally — just like how the beans were grown.
How to Brew Vietnamese Coffee with a Phin
You only need:
- 20g ground coffee
- A phin filter
- Hot water (90–95°C)
Steps:
- Add coffee into the phin and gently press it
- Pour a small amount of hot water to bloom (wait 30 seconds)
- Fill the phin with water
- Let it drip slowly (3–5 minutes)
Optional: Add condensed milk for a traditional Vietnamese taste.
A Taste of Simplicity
Phin coffee is not just about flavor — it’s about slowing down.
Watching each drop fall, inhaling the aroma, and taking the first sip… it’s a quiet moment in your day.
With coffee from Cau Dat Bean, that moment becomes even more meaningful — carrying the essence of highland air, rich soil, and careful cultivation.
Brew it slow. Taste it fully. Experience Cau Dat the Vietnamese way. ☕🌿
